Houston Litter Crew tops £5,000 in Foodbank donations
Massive congratulations and a big thank you to the Bee Happy Litter Crew: last Saturday they traded in another £118 worth of cans at Sainsburys – taking their grand total since September 2021 to a whopping £5,082! They collect the cans and bottles from around our village and feed them into the deposit return machines at Sainsburys in exchange for vouchers which they use to buy food and other essential items for our Foodbank Collection Point. Their efforts regularly make a real difference to the donations we are able to pass on to Renfrewshire Foodbank and, in turn, to the people they support.
Many thanks to the River Inn, JG Fleming Bowling Club, Fox & Hounds, the Carrick Centre and all who save cans for the Crew, as well as everyone who donates items to the Collection Point themselves.
This week our donations were also boosted by a large car load of items from our friends at Langbank Parish Church, so a big thank you to them too.
All together, your kindness and generosity means that we were able to hand over 12 very full crates and 12 huge bags of food and essentials to Renfrewshire Foodbank this week.
What an amazing effort! Well done everybody!
