Cracking the Easter Code

Just before Easter we welcomed P7 pupils from Houston Primary School (over 80 children) to the West Halls to hear a bit about Easter.

Together we enjoyed playing a game, listening to stories about Jesus and doing some activities relating to the last week of his life, a wee drama, an action song and of course everybody received an Easter egg, along with a book about Easter and a palm cross, at the end.

We learned about the Passover and tried some special food; some people had their feet washed, some washed feet and some didn’t fancy that at all!

We also watched a video about what happened in the Garden of Gethsemane and talked about how the crowds went from shouting “Hosanna” to “Crucify him” and how easy it can be to follow the crowd and not do what we know is right. We heard about the crucifixion and finished up by making some lovely stained glass windows.

A huge thank you to all 18 helpers, those who helped put the gazebo up and take it down again, and the hand craft preparers.

It is always a pleasure to welcome Houston Primary children to join us for a morning of fun and learning and everyone had a great time.
