Our hugely popular Kirk Carnival is on Saturday May 11th this year and this year’s theme is the Olympics!
We have a brilliant selection of rides, activities and stalls – from a Rodeo Bull, Wipeout and Bungee Run for adults, and Pirate Run, Giant Slide and Ball Pond* for kids – plus home-baking, FOUR different tombola stalls (Bottles, Toiletries, Chocolate and Soft Toys) and a plant stall.
Don’t forget to buy your Lucky Prize Draw Programme for a chance to win a fabulous selection of prizes including a meal for two at the Houston Inn, a £50 voucher for dinner at Amaretto, a £50 voucher for a meal at the Fox & Hounds and a £40 voucher for Houston Hair Salon.
Every penny raised at the Carnival goes to support events and activities in Houston and the surrounding area that are open to the whole community.
TIMINGS are as follows:
12.15pm: Fancy Dress Competition at Houston & Killellan Kirk
12.30pm: Carnival Parade to the West Halls, led by 1st Houston Boys’ Brigade Pipe Band
1pm: Official opening of the Kirk Carnival, along with presentation of prizes for Fancy Dress Competition
3.30pm: Last chance to buy Lucky Prize Draw Programmes
3.45pm: Prize winners announced at the Carrick Stage
WRISTBANDS allow unlimited use of all the rides and sideshows* at the Carnival (apart from Face Painting, any of the tombolas, or the food/drink stalls, which are cash only).
They cost £10 per person, but there are big family discounts:
1 person £10; 2 people £15; 3 people £20; 4 people £25 and 5 people £30
Family discounts include parents/guardians as well as children.
*Rides and sideshows may differ slightly on the day.
