Houston & Killellan Kirk and Langbank Church Linked Officially!
Our Service of Linkage took place on Tuesday, August 6, at Langbank Church, and was very well attended by members of both congregations.
Revd David Burt, Moderator of Clyde Presbytery, led the special service at which the linkage was formally consecrated.
Preaching the sermon, Revd Jeanette Peel, Chaplain at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, told the congregation: “Faith is alive and well in the communities where you live. By linking together, your talents have already multiplied.
“Use this opportunity to go out and take up new challenges, take risks and open more doors.
“We have to be radical and think outside the box.”
Revd Robbie Hamilton, Presbytery Clerk, gave the Narrative, explaining how the linkage had been arrived at.
Revd David Burt added afterwards: “Change is never easy but when we work together, we can achieve great things.
“You are now linked and I encourage you to look up, look forward and don’t be afraid to take risks.
“Reach for the stars in the knowledge that we have a God who is always there to look out for us.”
We are now able to move forward to the next stage of finding a new minister.
