The Chicken Project in Mwandi, along with other social enterprises such as brick making and fish farming, helps less able members of the community to become more independent by providing them with sheltered employment in a stable, supportive environment.

The eggs laid by the chickens sell well locally, and when they are past laying, the chickens are sold for meat, so nothing is wasted.

Budgets to run project like these are tight, so making a donation towards feed costs makes a real difference.
